The Victims

 

Housemates Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin were the victims of the Idaho murders. They were thought to have been killed between 4am and 4:25am at their off campus rental house, after a Saturday night out. 

Madison Mogen

Madison Mogen, an only child from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho was 21 years old at the time of the murders. The senior was majoring in marketing and a Pi Beta Phi sorority member. Outside of school she worked at a restaurant called Mad Green and ran their social media platforms. 

Madison, who preferred to go by Maddie, was best friends with Kaylee Goncalves, another victim of the murders. They were found together by police in Kaylees bed on the third floor with stab wounds.

Kaylee Goncalves was also a 21 year old senior at the University of Idaho. Unlike her best friend, she was the middle child out of her five siblings. She was originally from Rathdrum Idaho, but was planning to move to Texas after she graduated. She was majoring in general studies and a member of Alpa Phi sorority. 

Xana Kernodle

20 year old, junior, Xana Kernodle was the third of four victims of the Idaho murders. She was origannly from Avondale, Arizona and later moved to Post Falls, Idaho. The dog loving junior was majoring in marketing and a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, like fellow housemate Maddie. 

The night of the murder Xana had gotten DoorDash delivered around 4am and her phone records showed she was on social media at 4:12 am. The killings were thought to have occurred between 4am and 4:25am. She was found dead in the same room of her boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, on the second floor of the house.

Ethan Chapin

Ethan Chapin was the fourth victim of the Idaho murders, alongside his girlfriend and fellow housemates. The 20 year old athlete was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and majoring in recreation, sport, and tourism management. He was found dead along side his girlfriend Xana after going back to her off campus rental house.

Was There a Motive? 

From what investors have found so far, Bryan Kohnberger has no link to the victims. I personally think that if Kohnverver is found guilty (which I believe he is) the reasoning for the murders is based on jealously and anger. This is because the murder weapon was a knife and stabbing is an extremely up close and personal way to kill, unlike using a gun. No matter the motive, these students were innocent and they deserve justice.
